“Easy Dining”: Sit down, relax and enjoy your meal

With “Easy Dining” you can order and pay food and drinks at the food court online.

You all know the situation when you go to a restaurant during lunch break and you are in a hurry. You don’t want to just grab anything quickly, you want to sit, relax, chat with your colleagues – and of course, eat some tasty food, but at your own speed, with you in control. We all like it that way. At ECE we love food and we want our customers to enjoy it. We are working hard to make sure the food in our centers doesn’t just feed people , it arouses emotions and provides excitement and entertainment – the three “Es” that you have probably heard of.

ECE has just launched the test of another innovative pilot project at Skyline Plaza in Frankfurt. So for the first time at one of our properties, we have introduced a digital system that allows our guests to place orders and pay for food and beverages in the food court with their smartphones. By launching the app, which is called “Easy Dining”, we have jumped on the trend to digitize ordering processes for foodservices with a simple and easy to use solution. We want to help our guests have a great time and this means offering more than just good food. At the startup of the app, six restaurants at Skyline Plaza will take part in the initial test period of the pilot project for “Easy Dining”, and these are Asia Hung, Bounour’s, Ciao Bella, Immergrün, Nordsee and Wittkoop.

What are the advantages of “Easy Dining”?

There are lots of benefits of “Easy Dining” for our customers including time-saving, cashless ordering by smartphone or via the center’s website. It allows visitors to preorder their meal at an earlier time (e.g. from the office) and then avoid longer queuing times, typically during the busy lunch break. As you would expect, there are also advantages for food operators that benefit from a more efficient ordering processes, better planning of staff resources at peak times, a greater “reach” for their brand, and the chance to provide special offer coupons or enhanced product offers.

How does ordering by “Easy Dining” work?

During the ordering process, either by smartphone or via the center’s website, the guest chooses from a wide range of dishes from the participating restaurants. They then select a desired time and date for their food, and then pay cashlessly by smartphone. The food operator receives the order on a tablet computer and prepares the order for the preferred time. The guest is then notified by text message that their dish is ready for pickup. Simple but great convenience for our guests!
